Plants Toxic to Livestock

I just came across a good website. It's something you may want to keep on your favorite website list as a reference. It lists most of the plants that may be in our area that are toxic to livestock. http://www.piercecountycd.org/tip_toxicplnts_p.html

The list of toxic weeds seems long. The thing to remember is that if livestock have good grass available to them, they generally won't mess with the weeds. That doesn't mean controlling weeds isn't important but I don't want anyone losing sleep over weeds.

I'll also paste in the Pacific Northwest Weed Management manual by WSU Extension that among advise on how to control weeds includes an image gallery to help you identify them. http://weeds.ippc.orst.edu/pnw/weeds?01W_INTR01.dat

Hope you're staying high and dry,
