District Staff Bios
Acting District Manager - Bobbi Lindemulder
Bobbi has been at the district since 1997. She is the Lead Small Farm Planner and currently serves as the acting District Manager. She spends a good deal of time on a variety of farms including: beef, horse, sheep, llama, goat, alpaca and on commercial stables. Besides farm visits, Bobbi writes small farm plans and teaches classes in pasture management, composting and other small farm best management practices. Bobbi serves on the Washington Association of Conservation District’s Livestock Committee, where she helps develop statewide programs for livestock issues. She has a BS degree in Range Management from Montana State University and previously worked for the forest service in Chelan. Bobbi was selected as the Washington Association of District Employee’s ‘Employee of the Year’ in 2005.
NRCS District Conservationist - Gale Mayer
Gale Mayer joins us from the Lynden field office where she has been a soil conservationist for the past five years. Gale has also worked at the Whidbey Island (4 years), Colfax (2 years), and Vancouver field offices.
Engineer - Ryan Bartelheimer, P.E.
Ryan has been with SCD since 1994 and is the district engineer. He has also been a dairy planner and EIT for the district. Ryan serves on the Coordinated Diking Council and is involved with AFW (Ag, Fish and Water). He is also our 'go-to' person for computer technology. Ryan received the State WACD Employee of the Year award in 2000.
Administrative Assistant - Kathy McEachern
Kathy has been with the district since 1985 and is a native Snohomish resident. She coordinates the administrative end of things and is often who you see or talk to if you call or walk in to the office. Kathy handles the grant vouchering, keeps our files in order, and keeps us hopping! She takes minutes at the board meetings once a month and keeps the lines of communication open with our supervisors.
Assessment Issues - Kim Levesque
Kim has been with the District for ten years and has been covering assessment issues for the District. She can address questions on the proposed assessment, work plan and other issues regarding the assessment.
Information & Education Coordinat
or - Lois Ruskell
Lois has been with the district since 1989. She originally started out as a dairy technician and planner. Lois coordinates the district publications, web site, media information and workshops. She manages the youth program which includes Envirothon and Natural Resources Youth Camp and the annual plant sale. She received the State WACD Employee of the Year award in 1998 and the Northwest Area Employee of the Year award in 2007. She has a BS in Ag Industry from Arizona State University. She is a member of the AgForestry Leadership program, class 30.
Quality Technician - Ryan Williams
Ryan works with rural and urban landowners to restore habitat and reduce development impacts. He also monitors water quality and provides technical assistance for the CREP program. He has a BA from the University of Washington in Environmental Studies, specializing in Restoration Ecology and Wetland Science. Prior to the District, Ryan worked for the Stilly-Snohomish Task Force.
Small Farm Planner - Eric Schuh
Eric is a planner for the district and works with commercial dairy farmers and small farm owners on Camano Island. Eric came to the district from the seed production industry. He has a BS in Soils Management from WSU.
Grants Administrator - Julie Allen
Julie handles the ever increasing financial management workload for the district. She comes to us after 23 years with Seafirst Bank.
Dairy Planner - Alan Shank
Alan is a certified dairy planner for the district. He has a BA in Liberal Arts from Principia College, a BS in Agribusiness from Illinois State, and a MS in Agricultural Economics from Ohio State. Alan also has his own small farm, with his wife Mary, in the Mukilteo area. Alan is a graduate of the Ag Forestry Leadership program, class 26. As part of the two-year program, he toured China extensively and visited Washington D.C.
Resource Management Engineer - Paul Smidansky, EIT
Paul was formerly the Americorps intern and has returned to assist the engineering department. He is in the process of getting his Master's Degree in Engineering from the UW.
Small Farm Planner - Amanda Ruzicka
Amanda is the farm planner for the Stillaguamish River Clean Water District. Amanda works on a variety of farm plans and helps landowners with technical assistance in the Stillaguamish watershed. Amanda is a certified farm planner and formerly worked for the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Nebraska for 3 years. She has a BS in Biology, emphasis wildlife, and a minor in Geography from the University of Nebraska in Kearney.
Restoration Planner - Victor Insera
Victor works with rural and urban landowners in the Snohomish basin and Lake Washington drainages to improve water quality and restore fish and wildlife habitat. He also helps landowners implement low impact development (LID) projects, which are projects that decrease the effects of impervious surfaces on local streams and wetlands. Victor has a B.S. in Environmental Forest Biology with a concentration in Wildlife Biology. He graduated from the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Prior to coming to the District, Victor worked as a Forestry/Wildlife Planner for Whatcom County Planning and Development Services and as a Wildlife/Stream Restoration Specialist for the California Tahoe Conservancy.
Office Assistant - Pam Grudin
Pam and her husband Dave have a small farm in the Lakewood area. They have worked with the District for many years and are one of our merit farms. They regularly host tours.
Pam also works in the canine hydrotherapy industry and in Hippotherapy as a therapeutic riding instructor for the disabled.
